Lokapraana
At Lokapraana, we believe that food is more than just nourishment—it’s a powerful tool for healing, energy, and longevity. My passion for cooking began in childhood, watching my mother, aunt, and grandmother create wholesome meals with love and care. After my marriage, I had my first child and started my research in nutrition, early exposure to the art of food and my curiosity to cook a better food for my child and family, led me to explore nutrition more deeply.   To turn my passion into purpose, I pursued an MSc in Applied Nutrition from ICMR-NIN, in my academic journey, I gained experience in understanding dietary needs, creating balanced meal plans, and addressing various health concerns through food and took a project based on pigmented cereals and millets. This practical exposure strengthened my commitment to using nutrition as a tool for healing and prevention. Through research, I discovered the incredible health benefits of millets and pigmented grains—ancient superfoods that support gut health, energy, and disease prevention. Inspired by these findings, I founded Lokapraana to bring back these grains and promote nutrition through wholesome, real food.
Gratitude I’m immensely thankful to my mentor. (My project guide), who encouraged me to focus on pigmented cereals and millet for my thesis—an experience that transformed my perspective on food and wellness. I am deeply grateful to my husband for his unwavering support, which allowed me to pursue my MSc and continue this journey. A heartfelt thank you to my mother for her incredible care and dedication in looking after my children in my absence. I extend my sincere appreciation to my Mentors, my family, and friends, whose constant encouragement and belief in my vision kept me going through every challenge. Most importantly, I hold the memory of my late father close to my heart. His love, wisdom, and guidance continue to inspire and shape my path every day.
